GIORGIA MELONI has sparked a global firestorm after branding Donald Trump “deranged” and announcing a shock rebel mission to Tehran to bypass US sanctions.
In a sensational broadside that threatens to shatter the Western alliance, the Italian Prime Minister claimed her people have “run out of patience” as the country’s economy grinds to a halt. With oil supplies dwindling and factories shuttering across Italy, Meloni is prepared to go rogue to keep the lights on.
The firebrand leader didn’t hold back, accusing President Trump of warmongering to line American pockets.
“Trump wants Iranian oil, and we want Iranian oil,” Meloni told reporters in a blistering statement. “But Italy wants it legitimately and with money, while America only wants to plunder and steal it.”
She blamed the current global crisis on a “deranged president” who she claims has dragged the world into a personal vendetta against the Islamic Republic.
The Tehran Trip
Meloni confirmed she will fly to Iran later this month on a mission to personally reopen the Strait of Hormuz for Italian tankers.
The move is a massive gamble that flies in the face of US-led efforts to block the vital shipping lane. Defending Iran’s right to block the waterway, Meloni said:
“The strait is on their border; they are using it to pressure the world. This is their right, and the world now knows the truth.”
Italy at Breaking Point
The Prime Minister’s desperate gamble comes as Italy faces a total industrial collapse.
Fuel Stocks: Emptying at a record pace.
Manufacturing: Major factories forced to cease operations.
The Goal: Total support for Iran’s maritime claims in exchange for a steady flow of crude.
Meloni insisted that Italy would provide “full support” to the Iranians, claiming “they are in the right, and no one is hiding that.”
The Strait of Hormuz is the world’s most important oil chokepoint. Located between Oman and Iran, it connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.
$1.2 Trillion: The approximate value of oil passing through the strait annually.
21%: Amount of total global petroleum liquids consumption that passes through this narrow 21-mile-wide stretch.
The Conflict: Under current international tensions, the US has attempted to freeze Iranian exports. Iran has countered by threatening to close the strait, which would send global energy prices into a vertical climb.
Meloni’s decision to break ranks marks the most significant fracture in European-American relations in decades, effectively siding with Tehran over Washington in the battle for the “black gold.”
