“The House has voted 325 to 306 to reject the #NoConfidenceMotion – a majority of 19. #ConfidenceVote”, the House of Commons said on tweeter.

Speaking before the vote, May said 3.4 million jobs which have been created and more jobs jobs will be lost under a Labour government led by Jeremy Corbyn. Besides, she said more children in good or outstanding schools would be lost and that more money currently going to the NHS will also be displaced.

“All of this would be put at risk by a Labour government led by Jeremy Corbyn”, she said. She promised to work to deliver on the result of the referendum and leave the European Union.

May called on leaders of all parties to meet with her on the way ahead for Brexit with a “constructive spirit”.”We must find solutions that are negotiable and command sufficient support in this House,” she added.
