IRAN’S Supreme Leader has issued a provocative “sink or swim” warning to the United States, claiming he possesses a secret weapon capable of destroying the world’s most advanced warships.
In a fiery statement posted to social media platform X, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei—referred to as Kamenir in local reports—dismissed the presence of American naval power in the region.
”The Americans constantly say that they’ve sent a warship toward Iran,” the Iranian leader sneered.
While acknowledging that a modern warship is a “dangerous piece of military hardware,” Khamenei delivered a chilling ultimatum to Washington’s top brass.
”More dangerous than that warship is the weapon that can send that warship to the bottom of the sea,” he warned.
The threat comes as the Pentagon continues to bolster its presence in the Middle East to protect vital shipping lanes and deter Iranian aggression.
The US Navy’s carrier strike groups are often described as “floating cities,” packed with fighter jets and advanced missile defense systems.
However, Tehran has spent years boasting about its “asymmetric” warfare capabilities, including:
Swarm Boats: Fast-attack craft designed to overwhelm large ships.
”Carrier Killer” Missiles: Domestically produced ballistic missiles claimed to have high precision.
Underwater Drones: New tech allegedly capable of bypassing traditional sonar.
The war of words between Washington and Tehran has reached a fever pitch in recent months.
Iran has been accused of fueling regional instability through proxy groups, while the US has tightened the screws with “maximum pressure” economic sanctions.
Military analysts suggest that while Iran’s rhetoric is often grandstanding, the threat to naval vessels in the narrow Strait of Hormuz—where much of the world’s oil passes—remains a “clear and present danger.”
White House officials have yet to comment on the specific post, but sources say the US military remains “fully prepared” to defend its assets in international waters.
