Synagogue: 131 Rescued Alive as Death Toll Hits 80

September 17, 2014 -Death toll from the collapsed guest house at Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has gone up slightly from what was recorded on Tuesday.

Public Relations Officer, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye said in a statement today that 80 dead people have so far been recovered from scene of the operation.

He said that the total number of survivors so far remains 131 and that there are prospect that more bodies will be recovered as rescue operators work hard to round up the operation.
Recall that a 45 year old woman on Tuesday walked out of the rubbles after spending four days under the rubble.

But on Monday, Nigerian Police Force (NPF) deployed 5 sniffer dogs to hasten operation when it became clear to rescuers that they were inching closer to area suspected to habours more people inside the collapsed guest house.

“We are deploying Nigerian Police sniffer dogs to assist in locating trapped victims as we are getting close to area suspected to have more people trapped.
