African Cup of Nations qualifier between Eagles and Congo

November 19, 2014 – It was on home soil that South Africa’s Bafana Bafana sent Nigeria’s Super Eagles out of the African Cup of Nations(AFCON) 2015, after holding the Super Eagles to a 2:2 draw.

Bafana Bafana came into game well prepared with Rantie showing with brilliant runs that his team was in Nigeria for serious business.

It did not take long before he put his side ahead in the 42nd minutes. He scored the second goal for his side in the 50th minutes.
Nigeria’s goals came through substitute, Sunny Aluko in the 68th and 93rd minutes.

However, South Africa overplayed Nigeria, with the Super Eagles playing uncoordinated football. Coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi however made some substitutes but not good enough to alter the result in favour of the Super Eagles.
