Six Killed as Boko Haram Hits Kano Textile Market

December 10, 2014 – At least six people were killed and seven others injured when two bombs exploded in Kantin Kwari Market, a popular textile market in Kano State.

Eye witness say the bombing was carried out by two female bombers.
“I heard a huge sound coming from the back of my shop along Unity Road. I just closed the shop and tried to leave because it’s not safe,” trader Nura Sadiq told AFP.

“It is true. There has been an explosion at the Kantin Kwari market,” added Kano police spokesman Musa Magaji Majia. “We are on our way now.”

Speaking at the scene of the incident, Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Mr. Adenrele Shinaba said that six people were killed in the bomb blast while seven others were injured.

He said that two young girls were involved in the attack adding that those injured in the attacks have been takin to the hospital for medical attention.
