By Our Sports Desk in Enugu

The Cathedral was rocking on Sunday as Enugu Rangers maintained their charge toward the top of the NPFL table with a clinical 2-0 victory over a struggling Nasarawa United.

From the first whistle, the “Flying Antelopes” looked a class above. While Nasarawa arrived with a defensive blueprint designed to frustrate, it took less than thirty minutes for the hosts to tear up the script.

The breakthrough came via a slick team move that left the United backline chasing shadows, finished with the kind of composure that has become a hallmark of Rangers’ season.

Nasarawa United attempted to claw their way back into the contest in the second half, but their attacks were frequently snuffed out by a disciplined Rangers midfield.

The visitors lacked the clinical edge needed to beat a keeper in top form, often settling for speculative long-range efforts that barely troubled the scoreline.

The points were effectively wrapped up late in the game. A lightning-fast counter-attack caught Nasarawa committed too far forward, allowing Rangers to slot home a second and ignite scenes of jubilation among the home faithful.

For Rangers, it was a “professional day at the office”—three points, a clean sheet, and a clear message to their title rivals.

For Nasarawa United, the journey back north will be a long one, filled with questions about how to reignite a season that is quickly slipping away.
