IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – An award winning school teacher, Miss Uchenna Agagwaonye and her elder sister, Ngozi Nnabude were today paraded by the Lagos Police Command for alledgedly threatening to kill the a reverend nun, who is head teacher of Handmaids International Catholic School, Reverend Mary Okolo.

Although they both denied the allegations, police said there is evidence to nail them for threatening to kill the 45-year old head teacher. Uchenna has worked for the school in the last 18 years, before being arrested for alledgedly sending threats text messages to the head teacher for what he she called high handedness on the part of the head teacher.

The suspect said shw was unaware of the consequence of her action. She explained that her motive was to curb alleged highhandedness of the head teacher, particularly how she dealt with her since 2016 when she went for an examination, only to return to work and be  wrongfully suspended. She claimed that the head teacher had deducted N12,000 from her monthly salary of N35,000 at that time.

“I have won so many awards, with plaques and I have been working for 18 years in the school but in 2016 when I went to University of Lagos for exam, I wasn’t paid. I am a primary four class teacher, the head teacher, this year warned us that if any student leaves the school, there would be no salary, if two leave, there would be no pay and if three leave, that class teacher will be sacked and the population of the school which was 900 dropped to 700.

Police however said that preliminary investigation revealed that Uchenna’s co-suspect and sister, Ngozi of No. 40 Martins Street, Ijesha did the monitoring of the Reverend sister from time to time telling her that she is being monitored. The Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal while briefing journalists noted that Ngozi actually sent the message compiled by her sister, Uchenna because of her expert use of computer and telephone.

He assured of further investigations into the matter in order to find out if the suspects has the capacity to carry out their threats, and whether they are working with other criminals.
