GENEVA — Iran’s Foreign Minister, Sayyed Abbas Araghchi, has launched a blistering verbal assault on the United States and Israel, accusing the two nations of waging a “brutally ruthless” and “illegal war” against his country.
Speaking at an emergency session of the UN Human Rights Council, a defiant Araghchi claimed that Iran is currently the victim of an unjustified invasion by “two nuclear-armed aggressor regimes” intent on systematic destruction.
The emergency session was sparked by a strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab. Araghchi used the platform to present a “terrifying reality check,” alleging that the conflict has reached a point of unprecedented brutality.
”In just 27 days of their illegal war, the US and Israel have demolished over 600 schools across Iran,” Araghchi told a stunned room of diplomats. “More than 1,000 students and teachers have been martyred.”
The Foreign Minister didn’t pull his punches, accusing the invading forces of intentionally targeting civilian life rather than military objectives. He claimed that the Minab school strike is just one piece of a wider pattern of “massive and systematic” violations of international law.
”They are systematically destroying civilian infrastructure with zero regard for humanity,” Araghchi declared. “Human Rights and international humanitarian laws have been violated by the invaders in an unprecedented, brutal manner.”
According to the Iranian delegation, the bombardment is targeting the very foundations of “civility.” Araghchi argued that the US and Israel are operating with “zero regard” for the basic principles of international conduct.
The accusations mark a dramatic escalation in rhetoric at the UN, as the humanitarian situation on the ground continues to draw global concern. Neither Washington nor Jerusalem has yet issued a formal rebuttal to these specific figures, but both have previously maintained that any military actions are focused on neutralizing threats to their security.
