IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Lagos State Governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat were today at the Election tribunal sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.
They were there to file their response to petitions against their election. Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Mr. Jimi Agbaje, who scored the second highest votes during the governorship election called to congratulate them on their victory.
He is unlikely to file any petition against their candidacy. It is however not clear wether the PDP will file one.
Other candidates, like that of the Alliance for Democracy(AD), Owolabi Salis is aggrieved. He has alleged that the elections were rigged and may have filed a petition at the tribunal.
