    Rotary Club of Ogba donates plastic bins to Alade, Ogba Sunday markets

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Rotary Club of Ogba on Wednesday donated big plastic waste bins to the Sunday and day markets at Ogba popularly call Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji market and the Alade market off Allen road in Ikeja.

    At Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji market Ogba, the Assistant Governor Mr. Bosun Oladele explained that Rotary was making the donation to them because it believes that there is the need to keep the environment clean.

    He said that lack of proper disposal of waste has led to the present environmental crisis that the whole world is facing. “When it rains you will see flood all over the place, this is because all our drainages are blocked and this is not suppose to be the case.”

    “We need to keep our environment clean both for our good and that of the future generation,” he added

    Also speaking at the ceremony the district governor Rotary 9110 Nigeria, which Rotary club Ogba is affiliated too, Mr. Bola Oyebade said that rotary club sees the environment as an important issue at the club and the club is doing all it can to assist the government to keep the environment clean.

    Responding, the Iyaloja of Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji market Ogba Mrs Folashade Salako thanked the rotary club for the donation stating that the club has a history of taking care of them at the market and thanked the club for the donation promising that they will make proper use of the bins.

    At Alade market Ikeja, the rotary club members were welcomed to the market by the Iyaloja of the market Mrs. Elizabeth Adenuga, who expressed joy at seeing them having had a personal relationship with the club over the last twenty years.

    She thanked the club for the donation and promised that the bins will be well used. She also solicited for more assistance from the Rotary Club of Ogba for activities in the market noting that the market need to feel their impact.

    Presenting the bins to the Iyaloja, the acting President of the Rotary Club Ogba, Mrs. Kaye Pinto said that it has become imperative for the club to make the donation because of the need to keep the environment clean. She further stated that rotary’s goal of pure service to the community means that members have a responsibility of ensuring that the environment is clean because it is our source of health and wealth. Face mask were also donated to the traders at the market by the club

    After the presentations, the governor and his entourage proceeded to the club house for a meeting. In attendance at all the events was the governor of district 9110 Nigeria Mr. Bola Oyebade, Assistant Governor Bosun Oladele, the president of Rotary Ogba branch was represented by his Vice Mrs. Kaye Pinto. The event was also attended by all members of the club.
