BALMORAL, Scotland – Her Royal Majesty, Queen Eliabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandria Mary) is dead. She was 96. She died few minutes after her doctor at the Queen’s Castle in Balmoral, Scotland raised serious concern about the state of her health.
The last activity she performed was on Tuesday, 6th September when she invited the British Prime Minister, Ms. Liz Truss to form government few minutes after the resignation of Boris Johnson as Primes Minister of Britain.
She has reigned for 70 years over the United Kingdom and 14 other sovereign countries since February 6, 1952 when she became the Queen.
Born in Mayfair, London, she is the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, who later became King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
So far, the flag is now flying at half mast at the Buckingham Palace, England.
In the statement confirming the death of the Queen, the Buckingham Palace said Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II died on Thursday at the age of 96, Thursday afternoon.
“The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow”, the statement said.
