WASHINGTON – Policies of the United States support and encourage Israel in its open war, President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian has said.
Pezeshkian who was addressing journalists at the UNGA added that the actions of Washington so far contradicts its words.
He said the solution for security and stability of the Middle East region is for Israel to stop its crimes in Gaza, Lebanon and the rest of the countries.
“We reaffirm that an open regional war would not benefit anyone in the region or the world”, stressing that it has sufficient capacity to attack Israel and that the Iranian response for the assassination of Hamas’ Political Bureau Chief, Ismail Haniyeh has not been jettisoned.
“Our response will be at the right time and in the right way.
” Israel’s assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran will not go unanswered, and our response is coming”, he said.
Pezeshkian noted that Iran is ready to work to reduce tensions in the region, but that Israel does not want that but is rather escalating and expanding the war.
“We are ready to put all our weapons aside, but the question is how willing is Israel is to do the same”, he queried, stressing that allies do not take orders from Iran but make their decisions based on self-defense estimates.
“We are ready to engage in dialogue with Washington and resolve differences, and they must honor their commitments”.
He said Iran does not claim to possess a nuclear bomb adding “this type of weapon is not in our military doctrine”.
