LAGOS, Nigeria – Not less than 30 supporters of the Labour Party, LP have been attacked by supporters loyal to the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC in Lagos State.

Deputy Governorship candidate of the LP in Lagos State, Princess Islamiyat Oyefusi made the revelation while speaking on Arise News.

She said those attacking LP supporters have openly identified themselves as supporters of the ruling APC, stressing that she is surprised that the attacks is  taking place in a cosmopolitan state like Lagos.

“APC thugs are the ones attacking us. They went as far as going to attack churches. We have the video evidence and those carrying out the attacks are comfortable with it”, she said, adding that some of those attacks have been reported to the Nigerian Police and the DSS, whom he said sent out reinforcement to the areas.

She has taken LP campaigns to 20 local governments in the state and that she has been well received except at Aguda market where they were attacked.

She said he resisted attempt to stop LP at a market in Eti-Osa, when the market leaders started ringing bells, warning the traders not to attend to them but that he insisted on entering the market and that they were well received across the market.

She said her party intends to build about 40,000  low cost houses in Lagos in conjunction with private estate developers  and take governance to the local governments instead of limiting governance to Alausa that everybody must go to transact any business.

She condemned situation where areas such as Ojo, Festac Town and other areas have been abandoned by the state government due to lack of votes for APC  in those areas.
