Buhari has done more than what is expected of him – Presidency

LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigerians are angry and they are voicing bitterness and hatred for the present government following a viral video of the remaining Abuja-Kaduna train hostages undergoing torture in the hands of terrorists who abducted them.
Over 68 Passengers were abducted aboard Abuja-Kaduna bound train on March 28, while many were killed.
The video which has been circulating online again questions the existence of a government in the country. In the video, uploaded on twitter, terrorist bearing AK47 riffles and other assaulted weapons surrounded the remaining Abuja-Kaduna passengers as their colleagues in the kidnap business inflict body injuries, flogging them from every angle possibly for the inaction of government, with some of the women weeping and wailing with their children.
Reacting to the video, a lawyer and Head of Mission (Nig), Leadership & Accountability Initiative said the only crime the hostages committed was boarding a train between Abuja & Kaduna.
“These are citizens of a country that supposedly has a President. People’s parents, children and relations being flogged by terrorists because they’ve been abandoned by those in authority. How do you watch this and not curse Buhari”, he said.
Kenneth Omoregie added, this is Nigeria. “Nigeria has a map. There is no country in the world, that can’t locate this place with the video. All they need do is employ mercenaries from countries like Israel, US and they will get the job done. It will be a night raid on the location”, he advised the Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government.
Another Nigerian added, “the president of Nigeria don’t have any problem with them, he shares their core values, they are his people, he invited them into the country, insurgency is a booming enterprise for APC & PDP”, another person said.
Chiilis@ChiBelzy said those in authority know what to do but are simply not interested in doing it because their families are not affected.
“They know exactly what to do and get result ASAP but don’t want to do it because it doesn’t affect them and their families members. So sad. It’s well, God is watching .I believe He will show us mercy, Amen”, she said.
As for Bello Olalekan Muftau, Nigerian does not need to employ mercenaries to tackle the problem of terrorism. “We don’t need to employ machineries to know where they’re. We have people who can trace them here in this country. It’s just sad that terrorism has become a profitable business in Nigeria”, he explained.
But Isensitise wrote, “ Nigeria has been sold. He added, “the west will not even respond. Nigeria has been sold. The boldness should tell anyone that they have connections in government. This is just disheartening”, he said.
Free self said the Nigerian government is in support of the operation of the terrorists. Temi believes, Free self is not far from the truth. “U are on point jare. I could not watch this. In an age of fighter drones, satellite imaging & advance technology: BH/associated kidnappers would have been cleared within months! But Government pay lip service to security. They know and are protecting ds animals!”, she said.
Ayo George resulted to curses. “It shall not be well with those in Authority that are suppose to live up to expectation, but are not. It shall not be well with them to their 3rd generation”, he said. But Obi Somto wonders why Nigerians are still campaigning for APC despite these atrocities across the federation.
“You’re saying your own sir and I understand where you are coming from. There are still stiff headed people waiting to vote the same authorities back to government. So you can see why we are were we are in Nigeria”, he queried.
For Niyi Ola, ‘Nigeria’ is just a mere geographical expression. A nation with a president that doesn’t do it primary assignment properly is liken to a car without a driver and petrol. What is difficult in finding means to free these innocent citizen. I cried watching this video”, he said.
Akanni Abiodun said, “APC is a terrible curse. But Onyi Pat added that Nigerians don’t even know the kind of leaders they have. “If not, how do you explain that a human with brain is still campaigning for APC and BAT for continuity. How? We are not ready to release ourselves from our self imposed shackles”, she said.
Reacting to the video, the Presidency said terrorist activity using propaganda and the use of violence to force governments to accept or submit to political demands is not new all over world.
According to the statement, to help the nation against ongoing situation, “the media must increase their support for the fight against the exploitation of the internet and social media for terrorist purposes.
“The Presidency, in the meantime wishes to reassure the public that the President has done all, & even more than what is expected of him as Commander-in-Chief by way of morale, materiel & equipment support to the military & expects nothing short of good results in the immediate”, the statement said.
