KADUNA, Nigeria  – Olam Agri, a leading agribusiness in Nigeria specializing in food, feed, and fibre, continues to demonstrate its unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians across the value chain.

The company’s Integrated Feed & Animal Protein (IFP) unit has announced a significant back-to-school scholarship initiative, a testament to its commitment to community development for the children of its employees and members of its host communities in Ilorin and Kaduna.

This initiative is part of Olam Agri’s Seeds for the Future (SFTF) initiative, which is committed to ensuring a secure and sustainable future for local populations. The scholarships cover educational expenses for selected students, including tuition, books, and uniforms. By investing in education, Olam Agri aims to create brighter futures for young people while contributing to the development of local communities.

Amit Agarwal, Business Head of Integrated Feed & Protein at Olam Agri, stated, “We believe education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for unlocking potential. These scholarships represent our investment in the future of our employees’ children and those in the communities we serve. We hope this support will inspire them to achieve their academic goals and contribute to society.”

Anil Nair, Managing Director of Olam Agri in Nigeria, added, “As a business that started in Nigeria 35 years ago, we prioritize investments that positively impact the communities where we operate, aligning with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. By providing educational opportunities, we are helping to build a more sustainable and progressive future for the beneficiaries.”

Nair further explained that Olam Agri’s commitment to education goes beyond financial support. The company is also involved in school infrastructure improvements, teacher training programs, and literacy initiatives, demonstrating a holistic approach to community development.

Meanwhile, Obi Amarachukwu, a scholarship recipient and student at Essence International School Kaduna, shared the personal impact of the scholarship: “This generous scholarship has eased our financial burden. My parents can now focus on other needs. On behalf of my family and other beneficiaries, I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to Olam Agri.”

Similarly, Alhaji Ibrahim Isiaka, the Asiwaju of Ogbondoroko Land, Ilorin, Kwara state, shared his appreciation: “On behalf of the entire community, we sincerely thank Olam Agri for supporting our children through the Back-to-School Scholarship program.

This initiative has been a lifeline for many families, allowing our young people to pursue their education. Olam Agri’s commitment to community development is commendable, and we are honoured to have them as partners in our community’s progress.”
