JEDDAH – Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, extended his warm congratulations to the Islamic Ummah on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr 1446.

He prayed to God Almighty to accept the fasting of Muslims, bless the Islamic peoples on this occasion, and spread goodness throughout the Islamic world. The Secretary-General also extended his congratulations to Their Majesties, Highnesses, and Excellencies, the Kings, Presidents, and Emirs of the OIC Member States.

The Secretary-General seized the opportunity of the happy Eid, during which the OIC shares celebrations with the headquarters’ state, to express his heartfelt congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He wished continued prosperity and stability in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the rest of the OIC Member States.
Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha expressed his hope that the Eid would be an opportunity to alleviate the suffering and tragedies of Muslims everywhere.

He specifically mentioned the displacement, migration, scarcity of resources, and lack of services faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip, in addition to the deliberate killings committed by the Israeli occupation forces.

He also pointed to the suffering of the displaced and refugees in the Sahel region, Lake Chad, and Sudan, in addition to the suffering of the Rohingya and others who are going through harsh and difficult circumstances.
