BY OUR MAN AT THE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM
IT WAS less of a North London derby and more of a North London demolition. For the second time this season, Arsenal didn’t just beat Tottenham; they bruised them, battered them, and left them staring into the relegation abyss.
Mikel Arteta’s title-chasers marched into the enemy’s backyard and walked out with a 1-4 victory that felt even more dominant than the scoreline suggested. The heroes? Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres, who both bagged braces to ensure the red half of London sleeps soundly tonight.
Eberechi Eze has become the ultimate Spurs bogeyman. After a hat-trick in the reverse fixture in November, he opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a sublime volley from a Bukayo Saka cross.
Spurs briefly threatened a comeback when Randal Kolo Muani pounced on a rare Declan Rice mistake to level the scores just two minutes later. But that was as good as it got for the hosts.
The second half belonged to Arsenal’s Swedish powerhouse, Viktor Gyokeres. Just 47 seconds after the restart, he restored the lead with a thunderous strike that left Guglielmo Vicario clutching at thin air.
Eze then grabbed his second on the hour mark, calmly slotting into an empty net after a defensive mix-up.
To put the icing on the cake, Gyokeres bullied Archie Gray in stoppage time to smash home a fourth, sealing a result that sends Arsenal five points clear at the top of the table.
