- Norway Ambassador to Jordan, Mona Juul
By SCM Reporter
A TOP diplomat has been forced to quit in disgrace after being named 33 times in the explosive Jeffrey Epstein “pedo files.”
Mona Juul, 66, Norway’s high-flying Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq—and a former envoy to London—handed in her notice yesterday after her cozy links to the billionaire beast were laid bare.
The bombshell documents revealed a murky web of dinners, holidays, and personal financial favors between Juul, her husband Terje Rød-Larsen, and the convicted sex offender.
In a staggering twist, it emerged that Epstein even left $10 million (£8m) in his will for Juul’s two children—signed just 48 hours before he took his own life in a New York jail cell.
‘FAILURE OF JUDGMENT’
Norway’s Foreign Minister, Espen Barth Eide, didn’t mince his words as he swung the axe, branding the scandal a “serious failure of judgment.”
He said: “The case makes it difficult to rebuild the trust that the role requires. This is a correct and necessary decision.”
Juul, once hailed as a hero for brokering the 1990s Oslo Peace Accords, had previously tried to brush off her contact with the monster as “minimal.”
But the new files suggest she and her husband even visited Epstein’s private “Orgy Island” in the Caribbean with their children.
The files also claim:
Juul and her husband bought a luxury Oslo mansion for HALF its market value with Epstein’s help.
Correspondence suggests Juul was asked to help an Israeli intelligence firm linked to the pervert.
Her husband, Rød-Larsen, reportedly took out a massive personal loan from the financier.
A lawyer for Juul said she stepped down because the scandal made it “impossible” to do her job.
She is the latest “scalp” in a worldwide clear-out of the rich and powerful who rubbed shoulders with Epstein. In London, the fallout has already rocked Downing Street, with top aides resigning over the controversial appointment of Peter Mandelson—another Epstein associate—as US Ambassador.
Who is Mona Juul?
Mona Juul is one of Norway’s most famous diplomats. She rose to international prominence in the early 1990s as a key architect of the Oslo Accords, the secret negotiations between Israel and the PLO.
She has served in the world’s most prestigious diplomatic posts, including:
Ambassador to the UK (2014–2018)
Ambassador to the UN (2019–2023), where she served as President of the UN Economic and Social Council.
Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq (Current post until resignation).
The Epstein Connection
The scandal centers on her marriage to Terje Rød-Larsen, a fellow diplomat and former head of the International Peace Institute (IPI).
Rød-Larsen previously resigned from the IPI in 2020 after it was revealed he had taken a personal loan from Epstein and that the IPI had received donations from the financier.
The “33 Mentions”
The recent release of the “Epstein Files” (legal documents from various lawsuits) provided granular detail on the relationship.
While many associates claimed they only met Epstein for fundraising, the 33 mentions of Juul suggest a deep-rooted personal and social integration into Epstein’s inner circle, including family holidays and financial arrangements that went far beyond professional networking.
