NIGERIAN pop sensation Adekunle Gold has sent shockwaves through the Afrobeats world by sensationally claiming he bedded movie superstar Ini Edo—years before he found global fame.
The Five Star singer, 39, took to social media to drop the bombshell, revealing that the pair shared an “extraordinary” encounter back in 2014 while he was working for a wealthy businessman.
‘Something Extraordinary’
At the time, the man now known for sold-out London shows was a humble assistant to an influential figure named Mr. Olakunle in Ogun State.
According to Gold, the Shanty Town actress arrived at the mansion for a modeling gig involving interior decoration. When the boss was away, the singer says the “extraordinary” happened.
Gold—whose real name is Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko—confessed:
”I slept with Ini Edo before I became famous in 2014. She came for her normal interior decorator job as a model, but Mr. Olakunle wasn’t around at 그 moment, so we had something extraordinary.”
The year 2014 was a pivotal one for the star. Just months after the alleged encounter, he released his breakout hit Sade, a cover of One Direction’s Story of My Life, which catapulted him from a “king of Photoshop” and mansion aide to a household name.
Ini Edo, 43, is one of Nollywood’s most bankable stars, appearing in over 100 films. At the time of the alleged fling, she was one of the most sought-after women in African entertainment.
Before the glitz and the “High” life, Adekunle Gold was famously known as the “King of Photoshop” for his viral edits of himself with celebrities.
The Marriage: Adekunle is currently one half of Nigeria’s most beloved power couple, having married fellow singer Simi in 2019. They share a daughter, Adejare.
The Career: He has evolved from folk-pop “Urban Highlife” to a global Afropop brand, recently signing with Def Jam Recordings.
The Silence: Reps for Ini Edo have yet to comment on the claims, which have left fans questioning why the singer chose to “kiss and tell” a decade later.
