LAGOS – The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has formerly endorsed  candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, calling on workers to vote for the candidate on Saturday during the presidential and national assembly election throughout the federation.

In a statement, national secretary of the NLC, Comrade Chris Uyot, said the Administrative Council of the NLC  has directed all workers in Nigeria to come out massively and vote and protect their votes.

The NLC  also called on INEC  to ensure that the election reflects the will of the people.

‘’Towards this end,  all Labour Political Committee members in the states are to intensify their work in mobilizing workers and the Nigerian people  both at the local and ward and polling units to vote for the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Mr. Peter Obi, and all candidates of the Labour Party,  contesting the elections.

‘’  The political committees are also enjoined to work  with our allies in civil society organisations  and students to  take all necessary steps to safeguard the people’s votes by ensuring that the electoral process is transparent, free and fair’, the NLC  said.
