July 23, 2014 – Officials of the Nigerian Navy have arrested about 20 hard drug peddlers in Anambra State , just as it promised to make every part of the state, especially, Onitsha uninhabitable for both the dealers and those who patronize them.
Acting on intelligence report, men of the Nigerian Navy swoop on the area and arrested the illicit drug dealers at Nsugbe near Onitsha.
The Commanding Officer of Navy Out-Post, Onitsha, Navy Capt. Mike Oamen, who briefed newsmen said it is only by fighting hard drug that the war against criminals and their syndicates can be won.
He stated that those arrested were essentially selling and smuggling bags of hard drugs such as cannabis and other stimulants in the community.
