    US joins Spain in concealing active cases of Coronavirus as Nigeria records 501 new 8990 active

    Active cases  hit 31. 8 million worldwide

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 501 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 78,434. But out of the 78, 434 all time cases  68,303 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while  1,221 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 8990 active cases.

    Nigeria is recording 8990 active cases just at the United States  seems to have joined Spain in concealing total active cases of Coronavirus in the country. The United States stop reporting total active recoveries since  Friday December 18, while Spain stopped since June 2020.

    This development makes it utterly impossible to report actual active cases of Coronavirus in both countries. It is not clear what both countries hope to achieve by concealing the figures.

    However breakdown of the new cases  of Coronavirus in Nigeria is as follows, Lagos-218, FCT-112, Kaduna-53, Plateau-24, Katsina-21, Kano-16, Yobe-14, Ondo-10, Ogun-9, Edo-7, Bayelsa-5, Rivers-4, Borno-4, Osun-2 and Ekiti-2, making a total of 501 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov 501 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-218, FCT-112, Kaduna-53, Plateau-24, Katsina-21, Kano-16, Yobe-14, Ondo-10, Ogun-9, Edo-7, Bayelsa-5, Rivers-4, Borno-4, Osun-2 and Ekiti-2; 78,434 confirmed ; 68,303 discharged; 1,221 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 76, 694, 601 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  1, 691,024 deaths, while 43,196,934 others have been treated successfully and discharged. The world is now left with 31, 806, 643 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to JHU, the United States remains the most afflicted country worldwide, reporting  17, 805, 599 confirmed cases, while 317,387  patients have lost their lives to the virus, followed by India which has confirmed  10, 031, 223  all time cases,  145, 477 deaths, while 9,580, 402 others  have recovered, leaving India with 305, 344 active cases of Coronavirus and Brazil, which has confirmed  7, 213, 155  all time cases,  186, 356 patients have been killed by the virus, while  6, 388, 938 others have survived leaving Brazil with 637, 861 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Russia remains the 4th country most hit, reporting  2, 821, 125 confirmed cases, 50, 242 patients have been killed by Coronavirus, while  2, 253, 826 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 517, 057 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by  France which has documented 2, 529,756 confirmed cases,  60, 665 patients are already dead, while 189,638 others have recovered, leaving France with 2, 279, 453 active cases of Coronavirus and the United Kingdom which has documented  2, 046, 161 all time cases,  67, 503 patients have lost their lives to Coronavirus pandemic, while only 4, 374 patients have been lucky to survive the virus, leaving the UK with 1, 974, 284 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Turkey  has remained as the 7th  country most affected by Coronavirus, reporting  2, 024, 601 all time cases,  18, 097 patients are no more, while  1, 800, 286 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Turkey with 206, 218 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by  Italy which has reported  1, 953, 185 all time cases, 68, 799 deaths and  1, 261,626  recoveries, leaving Italy with 622, 760  active cases of Coronavirus and  Spain, another country which has been concealing the actual active cases of Coronavirus since June 2020.

    However, health authorities in Spain have reported 1,787,  236  confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 48, 926 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, a figure that remained unchanged for 6 good months since June, portraying  Spain to be orchestrating cover up of active cases of Coronavirus. Nevertheless, Spain is projected to have 1, 587, 934 active cases of Coronavirus.

    Argentina remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting  1, 537, 169 all time cases,  41, 763 deaths and  1, 362, 617 recoveries, leaving Argentina with 132, 789 active cases of Coronavirus and South Africa, now the 18th country most afflicted by Coronavirus worldwide. South Africa has reported 921, 922 confirmed cases of the virus, 24, 691 patients are already dead, while 793,914 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 103, 317 active cases of Coronavirus.
