GERMANY – The company, which cut jobs during the pandemic, announced in Frankfurt on Monday that it had already brought several thousand people on board this year.

It said it was offering opportunities in more than 45 professions. Above all, technicians, IT specialists, lawyers, pilots and flight attendants are being sought.

“We are clearly showing that the Lufthansa group is looking to the future full of ambition,” Lufthansa’s chief human resources officer, Michael Niggemann, said at the launch of the recruitment campaign.

“In order to be at the top of the industry, we need committed and motivated employees for diverse tasks and challenges,” Niggemann said.

The Lufthansa group had 107,000 employees at the end of September.

Group chief executive Carsten Spohr recently referred to strong demand after the coronavirus crisis and announced that he would hire about 20,000 new employees across the group by the end of 2023.

In addition, investments worth billions in new aircraft, equipment and IT are planned, Spohr said at the beginning of September.
