MUSIC legend Lionel Richie has been rushed to hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit following a dramatic health scare during a live performance.
The 77-year-old pop icon was admitted to a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, shortly after taking to the stage at The Muny in Forest Park.
Fans watched in concern as the Easy singer reportedly struggled to push through the end of his hit-filled set.
Witnesses revealed that during his iconic closing track, All Night Long, Richie was forced to ask stage crew to bring him a chair so he could finish the show seated.
Directly after leaving the stage, the hitmaker checked into a local hospital to undergo tests.
Insiders say doctors are treating the star for slight dehydration and keeping him under close observation in the ICU out of an abundance of caution. He is currently expected to be discharged on Tuesday.
Speaking to the crowd during the show, Richie had candidly admitted he had been facing health struggles on his current tour.
”Some things have been happening on this tour that kind of shook me up a little bit, because I couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on,” Richie told fans. “I went back to the doctor, and he said, ‘You are suffering from dehydration.'”
Alarming fans, this marks the second time the former Commodores frontman has been rushed to hospital this year.
Back in June 2026, Richie suffered a terrifying medical crisis mid-concert in St. Paul, Minnesota. He told the audience he felt “dizzy” and “strange” before cutting the performance short.
Paramedics met the singer backstage and rushed him to hospital in an ambulance, forcing him to postpone several tour dates to recover under doctor’s orders.
The Hello singer is currently on his Sing A Song All Night Long tour while also serving as a judge on American Idol alongside Katy Perry and Luke Bryan.
