Nigeria, March 2, 2016The Lagos State Government is now set to unveil Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment, otherwise called Lagos Global. The office which will interface with foreign investors will be unveiled March 31, 2016.

Abass stated that the official launch of the Office would afford the new agency the opportunity of reaching out to its major stakeholders who are business men, multinational investors and members of the diplomatic community among others.

“This event would be preceded by a sensitization forum for ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) with the intention to create awareness about the office as an investment one-stop-shop and facilitate cooperation and better understanding of the workings of the office.

Abass, who was represented by Dr. Yakub Olajide Basorun, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment during the visit, stressed the importance of sensitising civil servants and relevant MDAs on the mandates and responsibilities of the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment for harmonious working relationship.

Earlier, the Chairman, House Committee on Ethics, Protocol and Privileges, Hon. Rotimi Abiru, said the Committee and the Global office are partners in progress as both are concerned with moving the State forward.

While commending the initiative of the Office, Abiru affirmed that the State House of Assembly would give the required legislative support to Lagos Global to allow it play its assigned role which ultimately would be instrumental to the realization and vision of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for a prosperous State.

Other members of the Ethics, Protocol and Privileges Committee present during the meeting include Hon. Segun Olulade, Hon. Hakeem Bello and Hon. Olawunmi Sangodara as well as the management team of the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment.
