October 2, 2015 – Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences, Mr. Olubukola Abe has said that no fewer than 1,920 miscreants were arrested and successfully prosecuted in the law courts during the last 3rd quarter of year 2015 by the Agency

Abe who was speaking in his office, said that 2,127 were initially arrested out of which 162 were screened out while 55 were discharged in accordance with the law and 1,920 were convicted for various offences.

He stated that the agency functions was not limited to arrest of miscreants alone adding that over 1,720 motorcyclists plying restricted routes across the state were equally arrested and that their motorcycles were confiscated in accordance to the Lagos State Road traffic Laws of 2012.

He observed that the agency activities are being tinted towards making sure of secured and tidy environment where social economic development can thrive.

He emphasized that street trading is prohibited across the state and that most traffic being experienced are the direct consequence of activities of these street traders who indiscriminately display their wares on the road or sells to motorists on the high ways.

He urged motorists to desist from patronizing street traders in order to reduce human hours being wasted on our roads.
