According to him, “this operation is embarked upon in order to ensure that sanity is brought back to the highways. This will in no small measure prevent traffic robbery and criminal attacks on innocent and law abiding motorists and commuters, which have become a menace in the metropolis”.
He noted that the law enforcement agencies would enforce total restriction of motorcycles on all unapproved routes and expressways in the state.
The impounded motorcycles and their riders have been handed over to the Lagos State Task Force on the Environment Unit for necessary legal action, adding that, the arrests were made during a special operation by the law enforcement agencies.
