KANO – In a display of sheer dominance that echoed through the streets of Kano, Kano Pillars dismantled El-Kanemi Warriors with a ruthless 3-0 victory in their latest NPFL encounter.
From the opening whistle, the “Sai Masu Gida” made their intentions clear. The atmosphere at the Sani Abacha Stadium was electric, and the home side fed off that energy, dictating the tempo and suffocating the Warriors’ midfield. It wasn’t a matter of if the goals would come, but when.
The breakthrough came early, shattering El-Kanemi’s defensive strategy of sitting deep. A slick combination play on the wing carved open the visitors, leading to a clinical finish that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
While El-Kanemi attempted to regroup, they struggled to find any rhythm against a Pillars side that looked fitter, faster, and more hungrier for the three points.
First Half: Pillars took control with high pressing and an early opener.
Second Half: Two further goals put the game beyond doubt as the Warriors’ defense finally buckled under sustained pressure.
The Result: A clean sheet and three goals that see Pillars climb the table with authority.
For El-Kanemi Warriors, it was a long afternoon in the heat of Kano. Despite a few flashes of individual brilliance, they lacked the tactical cohesion to threaten a disciplined Pillars backline. The 3-0 scoreline was a fair reflection of a match where one team was simply a class above.
As the final whistle blew, the Sani Abacha Stadium erupted. For the Pillars, this wasn’t just a win; it was a statement. For the rest of the NPFL, the message is clear: Kano remains a fortress.
