LONDON – KEMI BADENOCH today launched a blistering attack on Sir Keir Starmer, branding him “too weak” to stand up to the Chinese dragon.
In a fiery press conference in Central London, the Tory leader warned that the Prime Minister is flying into a trap as he arrives in Beijing for high-stakes talks.
Mrs. Badenoch accused the Labour chief of having “no clear agenda” for the trip and warned that Britain risks being “in hock” to a regime that actively undermines British democracy.
Speaking to reporters earlier today, Mrs. Badenoch didn’t pull her punches.
She warned that while the UK needs a working relationship with the global superpower, Sir Keir is failing to protect British interests.
”When it comes to China, Keir Starmer is too weak,” she declared.
”Yes, we need a relationship with China. But China doesn’t believe in democracy, it has sanctioned our MPs, disrupts the global trade system, and has designs on Taiwan. We must not be in hock to China.”
The Tory leader’s intervention comes just days after the Government gave the green light for a controversial new Chinese “mega-embassy” at the historic Royal Mint Court—a move Mrs. Badenoch has slammed as a “capitulation.”
She previously joined protesters at the site, warning that allowing a 20,000-square-meter “spy hub” in the heart of the capital was a sign of a government with “no backbone.”
Mrs. Badenoch also used the press conference to plant her flag for the future of the Conservative Party, insisting she is purging the “weakness” of the past to build a fighting force for the next election.
”I am building a Conservative Party for the future,” she said, signaling a hardline shift on national security and sovereignty.
Regimes like China respond to strength, not weakness. If Britain is weak, we will be taken advantage of.” — Kemi Badenoch
