March 22, 2015 – President Goodluck Jonathan today assured Nigerians that the Presidential election will hold March 28th 2015 as scheduled.

The President made the revelation while rounding up his comments at the Presidential Debate put together by Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) in Abuja but the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari however boycotted the event held just less than seven days to the Presidential election.

The event was aired live on African Independent Television (AIT), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), and radio stations in Nigeria.

President Goodluck Jonathan also used the occasion to present his programme on what his administration has done and intends to do.

He said his administration has done a lot in terms of roads adding that those who travel by road will easily attests to it.  He said the rail is back and that things are looking up.  He said that government has introduced dry season farming that enables farmers to farm all through the year with improved seedlings.

He said that there is the need to open up the petroleum sector through the Petroleum Industry Bill which he said is pending in the national assembly.

He promised to do more if he is re-elected into office. Also speaking, candidate of the National Conscience Party(NCP), Mr. Martin Onovo talks of the need to empower states  to build refineries  adding that Nigeria remains the only oil producing country that is importing fuel.

He said there was need to build more refineries so that Nigeria can export fuel to other countries.
