Frontline Pharmacist Jimi Agbaje has emerged the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the primaries that were held today in Lagos.
He will now square up with Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in the 2015 general elections which pundits believe will be a classic encounter and could go either ways.
He polled 432 votes to defeat Senator Musliu Obanikoro who scored 343 votes. Adedeji Doherty – scored 21 votes while Gbadamosi scored 21 votes.
Mr. Gbadamosi kept shouting “fraud, fraud, shameless fraud” as the votes were counted in what was general seen as a transparent process.
Earlier former chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu secured the ticket of the party.
Ribadu won in Adamawa State, while Ifeanyi Okowa won in Delta State. But in Abia State, it was Okezie Ipeazu that won the primaries. He polled 487 votes to defeat Former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr. Emeka Wogo who scored 33 votes.
Former Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku lost in his quest to be the party’s candidate in Nasarawa State.
