MOSCOW, Russia – Jehovah’s Witnesses organisation has said it will appeal against ruling of the Russian Supreme Court which effectively liquidated its Administrative Centre and 395 local religious organisations, LROs.

The ruling also upheld the views of Russia’s Ministry of Justice that JWs are religious extremist.

expressed disppointment with Russia over ruling of the Supreme Court, which liquidated its Administrative Centre and 395 Local Religious Organisation, LROs.

Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia have 30 days to submit their appeal to a 3-man panel for consideration.

“We are greatly disappointed by this development and deeply concerned about how this will affect our religious activity,” states Yaroslav Sivulskiy, a spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia.

“We will appeal this decision, and we hope that our legal rights and protections as a peaceful religious group will be fully restored as soon as possible.”
