    Coronavirus kills 4209 patients in India as Nigeria lists 43 cases

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed a total of 43 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 165,944. But out of the 165,944 confirmed cases, 156,462 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,067 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7415 new cases of Coronavirus.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-32, Rivers-7, FCT-2, Akwa Ibom-1 and Kaduna-1, making a total of 43 new cases of Coronavirus.

    There are now 165, 713, 514  confirmed cases worldwide,  3, 434, 193 patients are no more, while  1,596, 867,366  doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 33, 079, 478  all time cases, while 589, 135 lives have been lost to the pandemic(28, 526 new and 692 deaths*) and  India which has documented 26, 031, 991 confirmed cases, while 291, 331 others have passed on(259, 551 new and 4209 deaths*) and  Brazil which has reported 15, 894, 094  all time cases while 444, 094 patients have passed on as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic(82, 039 new and 2403 deaths*).

    France remains the 4th country most dealt with by the pandemic, reporting 5, 979, 366 confirmed cases while 108, 343 patients are no more(273, new*), followed by  Turkey which has registered 5, 169,951 all time infections while 45, 840 others are no more(9528 new and 214 deaths*) and Russia which has  reported 4, 926,717 all time infections, while 115, 764 others have been killed by the pandemic(8811 new and 371 deaths*).

    The United Kingdom has come up as the 7th country most affected, reporting 4, 473, 767 confirmations, while 127,972 others are no more(2706 new and 9 deaths*), followed by Italy which has confirmed 4, 183, 476 all time cases, while 125, 028 others have been killed(5215 new and 218 deaths*) and Germany which has reported 3, 646, 592  all time cases, while 87, 202 patients have perished as a result of the pandemic(8088 new and 203 deaths*).

    Spain has come up as the 10th country worst hit, now reporting 3, 636,453  all time cases while 79, 620 patients are already dead(4792 new and 19 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 625, 003 confirmed cases while 55, 568 patients have lost their lives as a result of the pandemic.
