SHOOTING STARS 2
(Ibrahim 30, Adegoke 63)
KANO PILLARS 1
(Jibrin 79)
THE OLUYOLE WARRIORS proved they still have the “X-Factor” as they outshone Kano Pillars in an NPFL classic at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
In a league where every point is a battle, it was the home side who looked like the true A-listers. Sodiq Ibrahim opened the casting call in the 30th minute, smashing home a clinical opener that left the Pillars’ defense looking like a group of confused extras.
But the real “Star” of the show arrived just after the hour mark. Qamar Adegoke doubled the lead in the 63rd minute, rounding the keeper with the kind of swagger you’d expect on a Hollywood red carpet after a brilliant ball from Tijani.
Kano Pillars, usually the heavyweights of the division, found themselves crumbled. While Mustapha Jibrin managed to pull one back in the 79th minute to set up a nervy finale, it was too little, too late.
The “Sai Masu Gida” came looking to lean on their reputation, but they found Shooting Stars’ defense as solid as a VIP velvet rope.
The result sees 3SC climb to 8th in the table, proving that while form is temporary, “Star” quality is permanent. For Kano Pillars, it’s back to the rehearsal room after a performance that lacked the “wow” factor.
