    US, Brazil, UK still hot spots for Coronavirus as Nigeria records 1024 new 18, 699 active

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1,024 new cases of Coronavirus in the country,  bringing all time cases to 100,087. But out of the 100,087 confirmed cases, 80,030 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,358 others could not make it alive. Active cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria has risen to 18, 699.

    Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-653, Plateau-63, Benue-48, Zamfara-45, FCT-42, Rivers-27, Ondo-26, Adamawa-26, Kaduna-22, Edo-18, Ogun-16, Imo-12, Kano-9, Yobe-6, Ekiti-5, Jigawa-4 and Osun-2, making a total of 1024 new cases of Coronavirus.

    “NCDC@NCDC gov1024 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-653, Plateau-63, Benue-48, Zamfara-45, FCT-42, Rivers-27, Ondo-26, Adamawa-26, Kaduna-22, Edo-18, Ogun-16, Imo-12, Kano-9, Yobe-6, Ekiti-5, Jigawa-4 and Osun-2 ;100,087 confirmed ;80,030 discharged;  1,358 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

     There are now over 90 million confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide;  specifically,  there are 90, 074, 323 confirmed cases 1, 932, 053 lives have been lost to the virus, while  49, 923, 251 others have been treated and discharged.

    There are now 38,219, 019 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the Centre, the United States of America remains the most affected country worldwide, reporting 22, 300,696 confirmations, and 373, 669 patients have been killed by the virus(240, 108 new and 2053 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 10, 450, 284 all time infections,  150, 999 deaths and 10, 075, 950 recoveries, leaving India with  223, 335 active cases of Coronavirus(18, 645 new and 201 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 8, 075, 998 confirmed cases,  202, 631 deaths, while  7, 230,793 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 642, 574 active cases of Coronavirus(62, 290 new and 1171 deaths*).

    Russia continues as the 4th country worst hit by the virus, reporting  3, 366, 715 all time cases, 60, 963 patients are no more, while   2, 750,102 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 555, 650 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 540 new and 440 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has now documented  3, 081, 366 all time cases, 81, 567 patients have been killed by the virus, while only  7,009 patients have been treated successfully and discharged since the outset, leaving the UK with 2, 992, 790 Coronavirus patients to contend with(55, 053 new and 567 deaths*) and France which has reported  2, 840, 864 confirmations, 67, 885 deaths and 208, 354 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 564, 625 patients still down with Coronavirus(15, 944 new and 151 deaths*).

    Turkey remains the 7th most afflicted country worldwide, reporting 2, 326, 256 confirmed cases,  22, 807 patients have passed on while 2, 198, 150 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 105, 299 active cases(9138 new and 176 deaths*), followed by Italy, now reporting 2, 276, 491 all time cases,  78, 755 patients are no more, while  1, 617,804  others have recovered, leaving Italy with 579, 932 active cases of Coronavirus(18,625 new and 361 deaths*) and Spain which has registered  2, 050, 360 cases from inception, 51, 874 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with 1, 848, 110 patients still in need of medical attention for Coronavirus.

    Germany maintains its current status as the 10th country worst hit, with 1, 929,410 confirmed cases, 40, 741 patients have passed on, while 1, 551,235 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 337, 434  active cases of Coronavirus(15, 082 new and 520 deaths*) and South Africa which has registered 1, 231, 597  confirmations,  33, 163 patients are no more, while 966, 368 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 232, 066 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 421 new and 339 deaths*).
