    LEKKI, Lagos, Nigeria – Lovely actress, Funke Akindele Bello who shot to fame when she featured in the BBC sponsored programme ” I need to know”, has provided details of the contentious birthday jam she held at her home in Amen Estate, Lekki during the lockdown ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari.

    Recall that Funke Akindele Bello was arrested following public outcry that greated video of the party uploaded online. Explaining the circumstances surrounding the party, Funke Akindele said Nigeria’s most celebrated musical arts at this moment, Naira Marley was at the party but that he did not leave his home to travel all the way to Lekki for the sake of the party.

    According to her, Naira Marley was in her house before the President ordered the lockdown as part of effort to confront the COVID-19 pandemic which has afflicted nearly two million people, killing almost 70,000 people worldwide.

    “Naira Marley was in house when the Preident ordered the lockdown and said he will prefer to stay back and that he liked the working environment so that he can continue to work on the soundtrack of the major project slated for the month of April.

    Funke Akindele, who is looking very sobre in the video message said everyone in the party lives within the Amen Estate where she has been able to build a mini film village, with market and studios and that the kids in the video were already on booth camp before Buhari ordered the lockdown and stayed behind as a result of the lockdown.

    Besides, she said she and her colleagues running the production outfit work with 100 staff who live in the estate but that not all 100 staff were around for the party.

    Funke Akindele apologised for misleading the public with the video which went viral and promised to always support government in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
