FREIBURG – Freiburg have signed defender Attila Szalai on loan until the end of the season from Bundesliga rivals Hoffenheim, the club said on Sunday.
“For the current situation, we have found a very good solution. Attila has international experience and can help us immediately,” Freiburg sporting director Klemens Hartenbach said.
The announcement comes a day after Freiburg defeated Hoffenheim 3-2 in the Bundesliga with a late goal and down to 10 men. Szalai was part of the matchday squad, but didn’t play.
