BERLIN – France on Friday defeated the Ronaldo led Portuguese side 5 – 3 to move into the semi final stage at the ongoing Euro 2024 in Berlin.
But it was a classic encounter between the two sides, all trying their best to outclass each other. But none of their best efforts paid off at full time, even the extra time did not make any difference.
France scored all the five penalty kicks, while Portugal lost one and did not take the final kick, giving France victory by 5-3.
The other quarter final matches will come up on Saturday. England will take on Switzerlands at 5pm, GMT, while Netherlands will take on Turkiye by 8GMT.
