    Former MD of Daily Times Professor Ekundayo Alao is dead

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Vice Chancellor of Adeleke University, Professor Ekundayo Alao is dead. Ekundayo Ekundayo Alao was also a former Managing Director of Daily Times and one of the founding father of Mass Communication Department at Babcock University.

    Chairman Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Lagos State Chapter, Dr.  Qasim Akinreti  announced his passing in a press statement earlier today.

    “With deep sorrow in my heart, I announce the passing on to glory of our dear mentor and one of the founding fathers of Mass Communication department, Babcock University, Professor Ekundayo Alao.

    “Let us commit the family into prayers in this harrowing period of great loss for Divine comfort and fortitude to endure this great loss!!! We shall indeed miss him in Mass Communication  and academic field:, he said.

    He described Professor Ekundayo Alao   as a great teacher , Vice Chancellor, Adeleke University and former MD, Daily Times.

    While describing his passing as a great loss to the Nigerian media and the academic Community, he said, Professor Ekundayo Alao  was a great mentor and inspirator.

    “ May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace”, he said.
