His appointment is coming just 72 hours after the demise of the former Emir, Alhaji Ado Bayero who died at the age of 83.
Announcing his appointment, Secretary to the Kano State Government, Mallam Sulieman Bichi said, the Kano State Government received recommendations of the kingmakers adding that Allah has conferred on Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the former governor of the central bank, the post of successor to the late emir.”
