Lagos, July 18, 2016 – NFF 1st Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, who is also Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, on Monday led a high powered delegation that included President of the Nigeria Referees Association, Alhaji Tade Azeez and other chieftains of the Lagos State FA, to receive Nigeria’s U20 National Team delegation on arrival in Lagos.

The delegation landed at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport around 10.30am for the final leg of their 2017 Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture with Sudan, coming up at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Saturday.

A 35-man delegation comprising of 28 players and seven officials got their first taste of Lagos hospitality from the VIP reception after which they were cheered by some passengers at the airport lobby.

The team was later driven in a convoy to its hotel accommodation in Surulere, and had lunch before the first training session that lasted two hours at the Teslim Balogun Stadium. Coach Emmanuel Amuneke later addressed the players advising them to remain focused and dedicated to the task ahead.

He warned them not to be complacent against their visitors on Saturday, stressing that the fixture is not won until after the second leg has been played.
