BERLIN – The 90th minute’s strike by Ollie Watkins nailed the fate of Netherlands at the ongoing Euro 2024 semi final encounter, restricting the team to the best losers clash with France to determine the bronze medalist on Saturday.
England on the other hand advanced in the soccer fiesta after beating Netherlands 2-1 and will play Spain on Sunday for the gold medal.
It seems more of a one sided encounter totally dominated by England with 60 to 40 percent ball possession.
Netherlands’ early lead through Xavi Simons in the 7th minutes came crashing in the 18th minutes when Harry Kane found the back of the net putting the scoreline at 1-1 at half time.
Both teams came into the second half very determined to carry the day and dragged on until the 90th minutes when Ollie Watkins changed the rhythm, giving his team the deserved 2-1 lead to play in the final.
