LAGOS, Nigeria – Former Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudasiru Obasa now has a date in court in his battle with the Lagos State Government over his impeachment brouhaha.
Justice Yetunde Pinheiro of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja has March 7, to hear pending applications in the suit filed by Obasa.
Obasa had dragged the state government, the Assembly to court over what he termed as unlawful removal.
The lawsuit, filed on February 14, 2025, also names the current Speaker, Lasbat Mojisola Meranda, and the House of Assembly as defendants.
At today’s proceeding, members of the assembly loyal to the current speaker, Meranda, filed application seeking to be joined as defendants in the suit.
Lawyers to Speaker Mojisola Meranda include lead counsel, Professor Tayo Oyetibo (SAN).
