Nigeria, June 20, 2016 – Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has freezed his personal accounts with Zenith Bank, Plc.
Fayose who has been in a running battle with the All Progressive Congress(APC) led government, criticizing every move of President Muhammadu Buhari said he has not been able to operate the account in recent times.
He explained that following his inability to operate the account, he has to personally visit the bank where he was told that an embargo has been placed on his account.
Fayose who denied insinuation that his campaign was funded with funds from the Office of the National Security Adviser of former President, Goodluck Jonathan said he funded his campaign from contributions from the ordinary people who wanted him in power.
Fayose alleged that his accounts were frozen as prelude to plot to destablise his government and eventually remove him from power.
He said a member of Ekiti State House of Assembly was arrested 18 days ago and detained adding that up till this moment he was yet to be charged to court.
He said there are plans to arrest 10 members of Ekiti State House of Assembly under excuse that they don’t have certificates.
“I don’t know when EFCC, SSS have become courts to determined who has the right certificates”, he said. Meanwhile EFCC has denied the allegations.
