LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 859 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, bringing all time cases to 238, 420. But out of the 238, 420 all time cases, 212, 770 patients have been treated and discharged, while 3, 024 other patients could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 22, 626 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic.
“NCDC: 859 new cases of COVID19Nigeria: Lagos – 555, FCT – 57, Rivers – 44, Plateau – 43, Edo – 1, Ondo – 34, Kwara – 23, Kano – 18, Ogun – 16, Enugu – 11, Oyo – 6, Delta – 5, Bauchi – 3, Bayelsa – 3; 238, 420 confirmed; 212, 770 discharged; 3, 024 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 281,444,183 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide,5,407,244 patients are no more, while 8,984,475, 634 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 52,794,834 confirmed cases, while 818,371 patients have passed on(706, 109 new cases 1926 deaths#), followed by India, which has reported 34, 799, 691 confirmed cases and 480, 290 deaths(19,876 new and 770 deaths#) and Brazil, which has documented 22, 250,218 total cases of infections, while 618,797 patients have passed on(15, 595 new and 142 deaths#).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 12, 277, 814 total cases, while 148, 470 patients have passed on(318, 886 new and 146 deaths#), followed by Russia with 10, 258, 052 total cases and 299, 983 deaths(68,330 new and 2,760 deaths#) and Turkey, which has reported 9, 335,193 total cases of infections and 81, 733 deaths(66, 607 new and 475 deaths#).
France remains the 7th country most hit, reporting 9, 251,021 total cases of infections, while 123,884 patients could not make it alive(58, 178 new and 353deaths#), followed by Germany, now reporting 7, 028, 398 total cases of infections and 110, 810 deaths(29, 295 new and 493 deaths#) and Iran with 6, 186, 729 total cases and 131,434 deaths(3824 new and 86 deaths#).
Argentina remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 5, 480, 305 total infections and 117, 066 deaths(35,069 new and 58 deaths#) and South Africa, the most afflicted country in Africa. South Africa has reported 3, 417, 318 total infections and 90, 829 deaths(9381 new and 56 deaths#).
