    Coronavirus: Nigeria reports 709 cases as 2186 patients die in Brazil

    LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 790 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 179, 908. But out of the 179, 908 confirmed cases,  166,  203 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2, 195 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 510 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic, while one person died in the last 24 hours.

    NCDC: 790 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos – 574,  Rivers – 83,  Ondo- 38, Ogun- 31,  Oyo-23, Delta – 10,  FCT- 9,  Ekiti – 7, Edo – 6,  Osun – 4, Anambra – 2,  Bayelsa -2,  Plateau -1; 179, 908 confirmed;  166, 203  discharged; 2, 195 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

    There are now 204,617, 027 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 4,323,247 patients are no more, while 4, 527, 299, 894  doses of Coronavirus vaccines have been administered worldwide, based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

    According to the centre, the United States still remains the most afflicted country, reporting 36, 176, 545 confirmed cases, while 618,845 patients have passed on(136, 797 new and 801 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported  32, 036, 511  all time cases, while 429, 179 patients are no more(38, 353 new and 497 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 20, 245, 085 all time infections, while 565,748 patients have been killed by the pandemic(67, 328 new and 2, 186 deaths*).

    Russia still remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 6, 425, 918 all time cases, while 164, 413 patients are no more(20, 958 new and 784 deaths*), followed by France with 6, 440,082 confirmed cases, while 112, 620 patients are now dead(39, 517 new and 63 deaths*) and  the United Kingdom with 6, 176, 007 confirmations, while 130, 920  patients have passed on(29, 519 new and 107 deaths*).

    Turkey has come up as the 7th country most hit, reporting 5, 996, 194 all time cases, while 52,565 patients have kicked the bucket(53, 953  new and 252 deaths*), followed by Argentina with 5, 052, 884 all time cases, while 108, 388 patients  have been killed by the virus(23, 809 new and 427 deaths*) and Colombia, which has reported 4, 852, 323 all time cases, while 122,953 lives have been wasted(9316 new and 352 deaths*).

    Spain has come up as the 10th country most hit, now reporting 4, 660, 473 total cases, while 82, 320 patients have perished(197, 023 new and 93 deaths*) and South Africa which has registered 2, 554, 240  confirmed cases, while 75, 774 patients have been lost to the pandemic(7478 new and 573 deaths*).
