LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 91 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 873.

A breakdown of the figure shows that 74 cases were reported in Lagos, 5 in Katsina, 4 in Ogun, 2 in Delta, 2 in Edo, 1 in Kwara, 1 in Oyo, 1 in Abuja and 1 in Adamawa State.

But out of the total 873 cases, 197 treated patients have been discharged, while 28 others are dead.

Worldwide, a total number of 2, 626, 929 cases of the Coronavirus pandemic have been confirmed while 183, 283 infected patients have died based on reports by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, John Hopkins University, Maryland.

From the statistics so far released, the United States still maintains the lead both in the total number of confirmed cases and number of deaths. According to the centre, there are 840, 897 confirmed cases in the US with 46,640 deaths.

Spain currently has 208, 389 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 21, 717 deaths, followed by Italy with 187, 320 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 25,085 deaths.

Next is France with 157, 135 cases of Coronavirus with 21, 375 deaths. Germany, the next most afflicted country has reported 150, 648 cases with 5,315 deaths.

United Kingdom now has 134, 638 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 18, 151 deaths, while Turkey has reported 98,674 confirmed cases of the pandemic with 2, 376 deaths.

Next is Iran which has reported 85,996 confirmed cases of Coronavirus with 5,391 deaths, followed by China which now has 83, 868 confirmed cases with 4, 635 deaths followed by Russia in the 10th place.

Russia currently 57, 999 confirmed cases of with 513 deaths.
