Coronavirus: Nigeria lists 72 new 2561 active as Spain records 55,019 new cases

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, has confirmed 72 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases  in the country to 63,036.

 But out of the 63,036 confirmed cases,  59,328 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,147  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 2561 active cases of Coronavirus, #Coronavirusngr.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-51, Abuja-6, Ogun-4, Kaduna-3, Niger-2, Ondo-2, Plateau-2, Katsina-1 and Oyo-1, making a total of 72 new cases of Coronavirus.

According to the NCDC, symptoms of Coronavirus includes Fever,  Sore throat, General body weakness, Cough, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Muscle/ chest pains and bleeding from ears, eyes, nose, mouth & other body openings (severe cases).

However, there are now 46, 818, 512 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 1, 204, 165 deaths, while 31, 177,747 patients have recovered from the virus. There are now 14, 436, 600 active cases of Coronavirus globally based on current statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected, reporting 9, 254, 287  all time cases,  231, 263 deaths, while 3, 630, 627 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the US with 5, 392, 397 active cases of Coronavirus(69, 598 new cases), followed by India with 8, 229,313 confirmed cases,  122, 607 deaths and  7, 544,798 recoveries, leaving India with 561, 908 active cases of Coronavirus(45, 231 new cases) and Brazil which has reported 5,545,705 confirmations,  160, 074 patients are already dead, while 5, 022,338 others  have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 363, 293 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 100 new cases).

Russia remains the 4th country most affected by the virus, reporting 1, 642, 665 confirmed cases,  28, 264 patients have been killed by the virus, while   1, 228,921 others have been able to survive the pandemic, leaving Russia with 385, 480  active cases of Coronavirus(18,017 new cases), followed by France which has confirmed 1,458, 999 cases,  37, 473 deaths and 123, 664 recoveries, leaving France with 1, 297, 862 active cases of Coronavirus and Spain which has documented 1, 240,697 cases since  the outset of the pandemic,  36, 257 deaths, while  150, 376 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 1, 054, 064 patients still sick and hoping for the best of medical care to get back on their feet(55, 019 new cases).

Argentina is the 7th country worst hit, reporting 1, 173,533 confirmations,  31, 140 patients are no more, while 985,316 patients have overcome the disease, leaving Argentina with 157, 077 active cases of Coronavirus(6, 609 new cases), followed by Colombia with 1, 082,767 confirmed cases,  31, 796 deaths and  977, 804 recoveries, leaving Colombia with 73, 167 active cases of Coronavirus(8, 958 new cases) and  the United Kingdom which has suffered the highest casualties in Europe. The UK has reported  1, 057, 014 confirmed cases, 46, 943 deaths, while only 2, 850 patients have been assisted to regain their health despite the advancement in medical science,  leaving the UK with 1, 007, 221 active cases of Coronavirus(18, 960 new cases).

Mexico is the 10th country most hit with 929,392 confirmed cases,  91, 895 deaths and 786, 516 recoveries, leaving Mexico with 50, 981 active cases of Coronavirus(4, 430 new cases), followed by Italy in number 12 with 731, 588 confirmations, 39, 059 deaths, while 296, 017 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Italy with 396, 512 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 253 new cases), followed by South Africa as the 13th country worst hit, reporting  727,595 confirmed cases,  19, 465 deaths while  657, 500 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving South Africa with 50, 630 active cases of Coronavirus(772 new cases).
