    Coronavirus: New cases drop to 160 in Nigeria, 77, 266 in India, see deaths in top 15

    LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 160 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, making a total of 53, 477 all time cases.

    But out of the 53,477 confirmed cases 41,017 patients have been  discharged, while  1,011  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 449 patients in need of medical attention.

    Breakdown  of the new cases is as follows, Plateau-44,  Lagos-27,  Katsina-18,  Edo-15,  FCT-14,  Ondo-10,  Oyo-9,  Kwara-6,  Abia-4,  Nasarawa-4,  Kano-3,  Ekiti-2,  Kaduna-2,  Kebbi-1 and  Ogun-1, making a total of 160 new cases of the pandemic.

    “NCDC@NCDCgov160 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Plateau-44,  Lagos-27,  Katsina-18,  Edo-15,  FCT-14,  Ondo-10,  Oyo-9,  Kwara-6,  Abia-4,  Nasarawa-4,  Kano-3,  Ekiti-2,  Kaduna-2,  Kebbi-1,  Ogun-1; 53,477 confirmed 41,017 discharged 1,011 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

    Meanwhile global infection by the Coronavirus pandemic has exceeded 24 million, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University (Maryland) has reported. Specifically there are currently 24, 573, 933 confirmed cases, 833, 836 deaths since inception, while 16, 056, 815 patients have survived the pandemic.

    However, the United States remains the most hit, reporting 5, 906, 615 confirmed cases, 181, 579 deaths with  2, 101, 326 recoveries, leaving the U.S with  3, 623, 710 patients in need of attention(46, 805 new cases), followed by Brazil which has documented 3,761, 391 confirmed cases, 118, 649 deaths, while 3, 124, 465 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 518, 277  patients in need of medical attention(44, 235 new cases) and India which has reported 3, 387, 500 all time cases , 61, 529  deaths, while 2, 583, 948 others have survived the pandemic, leaving India with 742, 023 active cases of the pandemic(77, 266 new cases).

    Russia is next with 977, 730 confirmed cases, 16, 866 deaths while   796,498 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 164, 366 patients to treat for Coronavirus, followed by Peru  with 621, 997 confirmed cases, 28, 277 deaths, while 429, 662 patients have survived the pandemic, leaving Peru with 164, 058 patients hoping to stay alive(8, 620 new cases) and South Africa with  620, 132 all time cases,  13, 743 deaths, while 533, 935 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 72, 454 patients to treat for Coronavirus(1, 846  new cases).

    Colombia has documented 581,995  confirmed cases, 18, 467 deaths and 417,781 recoveries, leaving Colombia with 145, 747 patients in need of medical attention(9, 752 new cases), followed by  Mexico with 579, 914  all time cases,  62, 594 deaths over time, while 475, 532  other patients have been cured, leaving  Mexico with  41, 788 critical patients to treat for Coronavirus(6, 026 new cases) and Spain which has reported 439, 286 confirmed cases,  29,011 all time deaths,  while  150, 376 patients have overcome the pandemic, leaving Spain with 259, 899 patients in the hospitals hoping to overcome the deadly pandemic(9, 779 new cases).

    Argentina  is next with  380, 292 confirmed cases,  8, 129 deaths, while 280, 165  patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Argentina with 91, 998 active cases of the pandemic(10,104 new cases), followed by Iran  with 369, 911 all time cases,  21, 249  deaths over time while 318, 270  patients have been discharged, leaving Iran with 30, 392 Coronavirus patients and the United Kingdom, which has suffered the highest casualty in Europe. The U.K has reported 333, 789 confirmed cases,  41, 573 deaths and only 1, 569 patients have been saved, leaving the U.K with 290, 647 patients in need of urgent medical attention in the hospital(1, 298 new cases).

    France(16th) in the league of most afflicted countries has  recorded 304, 864  all time cases,  30, 601 deaths and 86, 495 recoveries, leaving France with 187, 768 active cases of the pandemic(7, 379 new cases), followed by Italy  in the 19th spot with  265, 409 confirmed cases, 35, 472 deaths over time while   206, 902 others have been discharged from hospitals, leaving Italy  with 23, 035 Coronavirus patients(1, 460 new cases)  and then China, where the pandemic was first reported. China, which has been pushed to the 34th spot in the league has documented 89, 827 all time cases,  4, 718 deaths over time while 84, 391 others have overcome the pandemic, leaving China with only 718 Coronavirus patients.
